The journal PISTES has been co-edited for the past ten years by Élise Ledoux and Denys, both professors in ergonomics at the Département des Sciences de l’activité physique de UQÀM, assisted by Maud Gonella, editorial secretary, on the executive committee. Two new co-editors, both professors at UQAM, are taking over, supported by Myriam Bérubé, editorial secretary, and by a new editorial board.
Funding of the journal : The journal PISTES is published thanks to funding from the FRQ-SC and the Friends of PISTES.
1.2. Ownership
The Journal PISTES is published by Les Amis de PISTES.
The intellectual property and copyright on the original content of all scientific contributions shall remain with the authors. The authors grant, in exchange for publication in the Journal PISTES, exclusive license of first publication giving the Journal the right to produce and disseminate the contributions, whether collectively with other articles or individually, and in all media forms known or to come.
1.3. Role of the Editorial Board
The editorial and scientific management (Vanessa Rémery and Jessica Riel) is supported by an editorial board composed of renowned researchers in the fields of social sciences and humanities focusing on work and health. The areas of expertise represented on the editorial board cover a wide range: management sciences, sociology, industrial relations, educational sciences, anthropology, ergonomics, and statistics.
The mandate of the editorial board is to assist the editorial and scientific management in ensuring the smooth operation of the journal, guaranteeing the quality of the article evaluation process, making final decisions regarding the publication of articles for each issue, assessing thematic issue proposals submitted by guest editors, contributing to activities aimed at enhancing the journal's recognition and dissemination, proposing calls for thematic issues, participating in funding acquisition efforts, and contributing to the development of the journal’s scientific orientations.
Additionally, depending on their area of expertise, each member of the editorial board is responsible for the scientific evaluation process of articles: verifying their alignment with the editorial policy, selecting two reviewers, maintaining correspondence and providing support to the reviewers, and drafting a summary of the evaluations, which is subsequently communicated to the authors. Furthermore, several members of the board are responsible for specific sections of the journal (reviews, varia, etc.).
The editorial board meets approximately four times a year, holding two meetings per issue. All board members are professors or researchers recognized in their fields who also contribute to training the next generation of scholars.

1.5. Role of the International Scientific Committee
The mandate of the international scientific committee includes acting as an interface between reviewers and the editorial board, collaborating through suggestions to shape future issues and the journal’s orientations, promoting the journal, conducting blind peer reviews of articles, and contributing to the journal through articles on specific themes or by taking charge of a special issue as a guest editor.
The international scientific committee meets approximately once a year, usually through an electronic forum or during international conferences where several of our collaborators are present. Over the years, the committee has expanded in terms of the countries and institutions represented by its members to reflect the diversity of our readership.
The members, all esteemed specialists in work-related fields, also represent a wide variety of disciplines, enabling the journal to cover a broad spectrum of social sciences and humanities.
