Le bien dire : essai de circonscription

Saying well : an attempt to circumscribe it
Bernard Gardin
p. 27-44

Abstracts

After a statement on the limited, scope for structural linguistics and discourse analysis towards analysing “saying well”, despite jakobsonian injunctions, the author discusses the linguistic validity of this object, which he tries to circumscribe through the language practices implied both in its production and reception. He concludes with locating “saying well”, from its links with stereotypy, in relation to “saying true”, “saying beautifully” and expressivity.
