About the journal

The Revue du droit des religions is a semiannual journal published by the Presses universitaires de Strasbourg dedicated to legal regulation of religious matters. Its ambition is to offer a better understanding of the legal framework of the religious phenomenon in our contemporary societies by using all legal disciplines in their relations with religions: French public and private law, but also international, European or comparative law. Beyond the French situation, the Revue aims to report on the issues at stake in other European countries and beyond.

By exploring all the legal mechanisms applicable to religion, the Revue du droit des religions seeks to inform debates about the manifestations of religious plurality that characterize our time (freedom of religion, religious symbols, religion at work, role of the public institutions, etc.) and to constitute an essential tool for reflection and analysis based on the diversity of opinions.

In addition to a thematic dossier, each issue includes varia, which presents original research as well as chronicles on current developments of law and religion in France and abroad and, once a year, book reviews.
