The Revue du droit des religions is a semiannual journal dedicated to legal regulation of religious matters. It aims to provide a better understanding of the legal issues of religion in contemporary societies by using all legal disciplines in their relations with religions. Beyond the French context, the Revue covers other European countries and beyond.

Articles may be written in French or in English. They must be original and must not have been published in any other publication.

Every paper is assessed for suitability by the editorial board. Articles for the thematic issue and the varia will then be double blind peer reviewed.

Text requirements

• Lenght:

  • between 35,000 and 40,000 characters (including spaces) for an article in the thematic issue

  • between 30,000 and 35,000 characters (including spaces) for a varia article

  • between 15,000 and 20,000 characters (including spaces) for a chronicle

• Every article for the thematic issue and the varia must also include an abstract in French and in English (800 maximum characters each, including spaces).

• Title is centered and in bold. It must not exceed 120 characters (including spaces)

• The author's first and last name and their affiliation are written under the title and centered

• Chapter headings and subheadings are in bold and numbered as follows: 1., 1.1., 1.1.1.1 (3 maximum levels)

• The manuscript is submitted as a Word or rtf file (font: Times, 11 pts; line spacing: 1.5).

In footnotes

• Authors' names are in _{small capital letters}

• The titles of books and journals are in italics

• The titles of articles and collections are in quotation marks

• Elements are separated by commas

Open archives initiative

The Revue du droit des religions allows authors to upload on open archives the publisher version(PDF) of their articles under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license as soon as the issue is published.
