About

Recherches & Travaux, originally the journal of the Department of Classical and Modern Literature, became in 2006 the journal of the Traverses 19-21 Research Team (E.A. 3748), which brought together four research centers. From a modern and contemporary perspective, the journal devotes its “research and work” to French and Francophone language and literature from the 19th to the 21st century, comparative literature, the relationship between literature and the arts, and the teaching of literature and the performing arts. In 2014, Traverses 19-21 merged with the other research teams at the UFR to form the LITT&ARTS research team. The journal now covers the fields of the teams CHARNIÈRES (Enlightenment, altermodernity, romantic and Stendhalian studies), CINESTHEA (Cinema, Aesthetics, Theater, Performing Arts), ÉCRIRE (Writing and Representations, 19th-21st Centuries), and LITEXTRA (Literature, Experiences, Transmission).

Each issue is thematic and focuses on a question of literature and aesthetics.

Electronic publishing policy: as of 2017, all issues are freely accessible in their entirety upon publication.
