Présentation
SABIX is a research group created in 1987 to highlight the academic heritage of the École polytechnique. The journal has existed since the same period and informs members of its activities and projects. It is also open to all research work based on the school's archives. SABIX's activities are an intregral part of the school's policy, and run in close collaboration with the former students' association and with the Fondation de l’École polytechnique. Most issues are theme issues but occasionally also feature conference proceedings.

On connaissait François Mayer (X45) de longue date... notamment par son petit orchestre de jazz qu'il continue à animer à 100 ans, se produisant dans des lieux réputés comme la cave du Petit Journal, boulevard Saint-Michel.
On savait aussi qu'il fut le gendre de Robert Gibrat (X-Mines 22), ministre de Vichy (démissionnaire en 1942, lors de l'invasion de la Zone Libre) - dont nous avions fait la fiche Wikipédia (comme celles des autres ministres X-Mines Bichelonne et Berthelot); on avait aussi fait la fiche des minsitres de Vichy polytechniciens du site X-Résistance.
On connaissait Armand Meyer (X-Mines 13), rencontré dans notre première réunion mondaine du Corps des mines (1981).
Donc, on en savait quelque peu sur nos trois polytechniciens, Mayer (père et fils) et Gibrat - ou du moins on croyait savoir...
