Autour des pseudos-clivées

Edited by Annie Kuyumcuyan

In French language, “Pseudo-clefts” are cleft-sentences whose two components are connected by c’est (wh-clefts in English), although these two necessary conditions are perhaps not sufficient. The contributions therefore seek, on the one hand, to identify their general features and, on the other hand, to highlight particular achievements. In doing so, the pragmatic effects of this type of cleft-sentences are also considered, while the scope extends to finish on all constructions that use the word ce in French.
Written by linguists from various theories, the book wants to contribute to a better knowledge of these original structures.
