The Center of Critical Theory of Shanghai University and The Interdisciplinary Research Center of Communication Science of the University of Turin signed an agreement for approving the establishment of Shanghai-Turin Semiotic Interdisciplinary Laboratory on Cultures (SILC) on Jan 7, 2019. SILC is jointly managed by Professor Massimo Leone (adjunct professor of Shanghai University) and Professor Zeng Jun of Shanghai University.

Enrollment
1The Research Center for Linguistic Semiotics in Tianjin Foreign Studies University enrolled 2 postgraduates majoring in semiotics, currently having 8 postgraduate students.
Courses
2General linguistics, semiotics, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, and stylistics courses are offered for MA students at Anhui Normal University.
3General linguistics, Introduction to Discourse Studies, and Methods and Schools of Critical Discourse Analysis are offered for MA students at Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
4Semiotics is taught by Professor Jin Cao and Doctor Shiqiang Jiang as a course for postgraduates in NWNU.
5Semiotics and Daily Life is a liberal arts course taught by Professor Jin Cao for undergraduates in NWNU.
