Centro Internazionale di Studi Umanistici “Umberto Eco” - International Center for Advanced Studies in the Humanities ‘‘Umberto Eco’’ (CUE) – University of Bologna

1Director: Prof. Costantino Marmo. Research topics: CUE is an institution of the University of Bologna that combines high-level scientific research and specialized teaching training in the humanities. The Center was officially inaugurated in April 2017, built on the legacy of the already existing School of Humanities, founded by Umberto Eco. The main purpose of the Center is to promote research, study, documentation, dissemination and in-depth study initiatives, both nationally and internationally, on issues related to Umberto Eco’s work and interests. In addition — in continuity with the past — it also has the broader objective of promoting and hosting scientific initiatives for higher education and research in all of the humanities. Within this framework, it organizes conferences and seminars at national and international level, as well as highly qualified teaching activities for PhDs, postgraduate and specialization courses. Federazione Romanza di Semiotica (FEDROS)

5Bureau. Isabella Pezzini (Rome), President, Ana Claudia Mei Oliveira (Sao Paulo), Vice-President, Didier Tsala-Effa (Limoges), General Secretary, Oztokat Kiliceri Nedret (Istanbul), Treasurer. The Romance Federation of Semiotics (FedRoS) promotes research, bringing together groups and semiotic research centers that develop their work mainly in the Romance languages. The semiotics practiced in this cultural area integrates the intellectual movements developed in the human and social sciences during the 20th and 21st centuries in the linguistic, anthropological, and philosophical domains without excluding other disciplines. The sharing of these references derives from a common epistemological foundation in structuralism, which ensures mutual understanding and guarantees communicability. By using shared databases, FedRoS facilitates the deployment of research projects and supports, after a favorable opinion of its scientific council, proposals submitted by one or more of its members.
