Guidelines for Authors

Forum Sociológico publishes original articles, interviews, book reviews and documents. All original proposals must be sent to the official email of Forum Sociológico (forum@fcsh.unl.pt).

Original articles must be unpublished and may not be submitted for publication in other national and international journals. They must have a maximum of 40,000 characters (including spaces, abstracts, footnotes, bibliographies, tables, graphs and figures, which makes up about 18 pages), and will only be considered for scientific evaluation if authors do not exceed the character limit stipulated by the journal.

Articles may be integrated in special issues or be published in the "Other articles" section of the journal. All articles proposed for publication are submitted to a double blind peer review process (Manuscript Review and Decision Process). The final decision of the publication is responsibility of the Editorial Board.

The journal also promotes the publication of interviews with experts on relevant issues in Social Sciences, as well as critical reviews of recently published works in Portugal and abroad, which are relevant in the scientific field of publication of the Forum Sociológico.

Each text must include the name of the author(s), contact email(s) and respective institutional affiliation(s) indicated at three levels (University, College or School, Department or Center). The texts should start with a title and abstract in the language of the text and in the Portuguese and English, if it is not written in those languages, with a maximum of 1,000 characters (10 lines), followed by 3 or 4 keywords in these same languages and the indication of the number of characters (including spaces).

The texts should be presented in A4, space and a half pages (standard also valid for bibliography), in Times New Roman font size 12 with the upper, lower left and right margins at 2 cm. The tables, graphs and figures should be numbered continuously, in Arabic numerals, for each of the respective elements (Chart 1, Figure 1). Citations and bibliographical references must follow the APA 6th citation standard.
