Direction

The journal Syria is led by a direction board including:

  • The publisher : Myriam Catusse, director of Institut français du Proche-Orient ;

  • The two directors of the journal :
    Françoise Briquel-Chatonnet, editor in chief, directrice de recherche, CNRS, UMR 8167 Orient & Méditerranée, Paris
    and Carole Roche-Hawley, scienfic head of the department of archaeology and antiquity, Ifpo, Beirut.

Editorial board

The editorial board includes the publisher and the two directors as well as:

  • Denis Genequand, director, Roman site and museum, Avenches (Switzerland)

  • Dominique Pieri, professor, université Paris I-Panthéon Sorbonne

  • Jérôme Rohmer, chargé de recherches, CNRS, UMR 8167 Orient & Méditerranée, Paris

  • Catherine Saliou, professor, université Paris 8 / directrice d’études, École pratique des hautes études

  • Laurent Tholbecq, professor, université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium)

  • Jean-Baptiste Yon, directeur de recherche, CNRS, UMR 5189 HiSoMA, Lyon

The members of Syria’s editorial board are named for four years, renewable, following criteria of representativity of the academic fields covered by the journal (chronologically and thematically).

This board is also in place for the books of the series Bibliothèque archéologique et historique (BAH) published by Institut français du Proche-Orient.
