Submit a thematic dossier
Thematic dossier proposals should consist in a one-page description. They may either include a list of potential authors and provisional titles, or be meant to be circulated as calls for contributions. Proposals are examined (with no mention of authors’ names) by the editorial board who may make additional recommendations.
Transatlantica does not publish proceedings of conferences, but dossiers based on a conference may be submitted. In this case, guest editors are requested to 1) make a selection among conference papers; 2) ask contributors to revise their conference papers so as to turn them into state of the art academic essays; 3) invite additional contributors e.g. through a broadly circulated call for contributions. We recommend diversifying the list of authors (e.g. in terms of national and institutional affiliation).
We suggest guest editors initially submit 6 to 8 articles, as peer-review may result in the rejection of some contributions. A standard dossier includes 4 to 8 articles. Guest editors should write an introduction and select a license-free cover image. They are strongly encouraged to edit preliminary drafts prior to peer-review. They are expected to deliver final versions consistent with the journal’s stylesheet.
